Corrections Policy

We make mistakes. When we do, we fix them openly.

Our Standard

If a published article contains a factual error — a wrong number, a misattributed quote, an incorrect name or title, a mischaracterized position — we correct it as soon as we become aware. We don't quietly edit and hope no one notices.

How We Correct

Minor errors (typos, broken links, formatting issues) are fixed directly. These don't change the substance of the article.

Factual corrections (wrong numbers, incorrect names, misattributed quotes, inaccurate dates) are fixed in the article text. A correction note is added at the bottom of the article stating what was changed and when.

Substantive corrections (a mischaracterized perspective, an unsourced claim presented as fact, a fabricated relationship or connection) are fixed in the article text with a prominent correction note explaining the nature of the error and what was changed.

If a correction changes the core argument or premise of an article, we say so explicitly.

What We've Corrected

We maintain an internal log of every correction made to published articles. We have applied corrections to multiple articles since launching, including fixes for: incorrect institutional affiliations, misattributed quotes, inaccurate numbers, and perspective sections that did not meet our sourcing standards.

We believe corrections are a sign that a publication takes accuracy seriously, not a sign of failure.

How to Report an Error

If you believe something in a Tapestry News article is inaccurate, email us with:

  • The article title or URL
  • The specific claim you believe is wrong
  • A source supporting the correction

We review every report and respond. If you're right, we fix it.
